Today’s picspam offers an unparalleled compilation of fabulousness in vampirism.
You may recall a tiny note in our previous Halloween on Ice megapost indicating that due to technical difficulties, we did NOT have video of Johnny’s first appearance in the show as Dracula, the Vampire King. Fortunately we were able to remedy that in Peoria, where we also had an entirely different view of the show than we did in either Syracuse or Grand Rapids. For this tour stop, we were seated at the far end of the ice rather than in the middle, which offered a new perspective for photos and videos that turned out to be pretty cool.
And so we now present The King of the Vampires arriving in all his opulent, malevolent, and briefly almost-giggly glory during the group number, “I Put a Spell on You,” via exclusive photos and video. As always, most of these shots are pleasantly huge, so please click any photo to study it closely in all its brilliant detail.
Jumpin’ Joe Sabovcík, portraying a Beetlejuice-type character in Nancy Kerrrigan’s Halloween night dream, leads the procession carrying Dracula’s coffin to center ice. Yes, Johnny really is inside!
And there he is. In the video below, you’ll see why he’s grinning so wickedly here...
But things quickly turn very serious...
...as the King is relentless in his pursuit of his long-sought Queen...
The bite!
A triumphant Dracula wings his way around the ice...
...and at last, the Queen is his...
...carried off atop his coffin, in blood-tinged lighting, accompanied by her King.
AT LAST: VIDEO!
Johnny’s grand entrance as Dracula to ‘I Put a Spell on You.’ Also the source of this blooper reel posted on his Instagram. Now you know why Johnny is almost cracking up in the photos above...
