Our Sun Valley coverage continues with an all-new series of exclusive photos and video of Johnny’s Beyoncé program, which he performed as the closing — and showstopping — number of the night.
Those of us who have watched him perform this since he first debuted it earlier this year at his home rink in Delaware and throughout his tours in Japan and China were thrilled to see the lights come up to reveal his choice to perform it in his new black lace costume, which, like the red version, is a sheer delight. It is also more bejeweled than I realized, and absolutely dazzling on the ice.
This does mean that the universal emoji shorthand for this program must now be updated from 🍅🍑 to . . . 🎩🍑? 🍩🍑? 💣🍑? IDK, but whatever fans decide, this program is just as deliciously wicked and sexy in either costume, and the Sun Valley crowd ate it up. In contrast to their hushed wonder at his Moonlight Sonata, his Beyoncé was punctuated throughout with shrieks, whistles, roars and even foot stomps of appreciation, as you can hear on the video embedded below (and already tweeted by Johnny last week!).
