UPDATE!! Johnny in Guangzhou Thursday
during a rare day off on the tour. #almostnopants
Kayso today is just a bunch more of my favorites because everything from Weibo is my favorite so now I’m reduced to just randomly tossing on here whatever happens to be sitting in the first couple of folders I click on after I have coffee. So today we backtrack to Beijing for mega picspam of Johnny’s fantastic Bollywood program, then fast-forward past Shanghai (but don’t worry, we’ll cover some of that next, including absolutely the most exquisite photo series yet of “Farewell My Concubine” from the Shanghai show) to skaters attempting to travel to Guangzhou which seemed to turn into the AOI version of I Had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew, to suddenly yay Guangzhou press conference!
If you missed the previous stunning photos of Johnny’s performance as the King’s Consort from “Farewell My Concubine,” please enjoy them here and here.
Also as mentioned previously, this groundbreaking male/male pairs program, with Zhang Hao skating as the King, is moving audiences to tears and garnering headlines across China. Johnny’s Chinese fans were kind enough to translate some of the press for us, and it is wonderful. Please take a moment to read these excellent reviews before skipping on down to the picspam...

and Shanghai is here.
Photos below credited per Weibo stamp on each image unless otherwise noted. Please, please click any photo twice for the full-size image. Many are gloriously huge and offer exquisite detail. These may take a moment to load, but are well worth the wait.

Part 2:
Scenes from an Airport.
(Well, and a Hotel.)
So we begin with Johnny and a lovely random gentleman
in Shanghai, where it’s time to leave the hotel and
head to the airport to fly to Guangzhou
for the next leg of the tour.
As always, fans are there, hoping for a quick
photo or autograph. And as always,
Johnny is kind and generous with his time.
Yes, of course we would want three photos
of him signing his name.
And now we’re at the airport.
I am not totally clear on what he’s wearing,
but he looks amazing in it.
More fans!
(I love this technique of preserving
privacy with an adorable panda head.)
Other skaters are gathered also, including
Evgeni Plushenko, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir....
...Joannie Rochette...
...Tatiana Volosozhar...
...and Maxim Trankov and, of course, Stéphane.
And so then apparently there was a lot
of standing around and causing trouble.
And then at some point, according to Hongbo Zhao,
“The plane was delayed, we are 13 for business class,
but there are only eight seats. So all of us had a meeting
and asked, who gets the eight seats?...
...We decided: ladies first,
men are good gentlemen.”
Johnny and Scott
waiting patiently and discreetly.
Via Hongbo.
Finally.
Yes, we must catch every last glimpse...
Part 3:
Meet the Press,
Guangzhou Style.
Our first hint that they’ve arrived and something’s up
is this Instagram from Maxim Trankov:
“BOYS # artistryonice2014 # artistryonice # friends
# lambiel # johnnyweir # makeup # boys
@ Guangzhou International Sports Arena”
Next, via Johnny: “Guangzhou!”
And then this happened.
Leaving us desperate for video.
Also from Guangzhou!
Johnny at rehearsal...
...and Johnny with unexpected food.
Via his Instagram: “Feasting. Pineapple buns
are worth every calorie. #noteatingtomorrow”
Bonus pic!! Stéphane and Johnny
at rehearsal in Shanghai. More here.
Bonus video!! Shanghai rehearsal.
The vid is a little jumpy with excitement, which is totally
understandable, and completely worth watching. :D
And one more, from Beijing (where we started).
Love that someone gif’d this moment.

Very special thanks to Joveta Leo
for the exclusive photos, and to all the Chinese fans
for such amazing pics and vids!!
