So I actually wasn’t planning to blog today at all because we’re all still savoring the afterglow of Johnny’s 30th birthday by revisiting this post endlessly, but then these three things happened:

(1) Random Johnny Weather Reference. Because Everyone Knows He Is a Force of Nature. So someone at the National Weather Service is apparently a Johnny fan, because when they went to warn people that high winds from Hurricane Arthur were starting to slam into the coast at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier, they tweeted this:

(2) There Is a Horse on the Ice in Toyama. I feel like you people need to know this.

Via Nathalie Péchalat: “Building the opening and the final ✂️
Btw the horse is saying ‘konnichiwa’. But who’s that horse⁉️”
Fans are betting on either Stéphane or Fabian...

(3) There Are More Johnny Pics From Narita And They Are Right Here. My lovely Twitter friend from Japan, @midnight_kurage, offered to share a bunch of her pics from welcoming Johnny at Narita. In case, you know, anyone might want to see more of that. Why yes. Yes, we would. And the thing that struck me the most in getting these ready to upload is how much and how happily he’s smiling in nearly all of them, even though he just spent his entire birthday on The Plane From Forever. So thank you, dear @midnight_kurage, for sending us off into the US holiday weekend with a whole lot of happy to enjoy!

He’s here!
“But where are my ladies....?”

“Ah! There you are!”

Then there was the traditional period of standing around
with the luggage cart and IDKY but it gave us all a moment
to fully appreciate his outfit yet again.

The shoes.

The. Shoes.

THE. SHOES.

The cart has disappeared from view
and now it’s time for pics with Johnny...

...and presents for Johnny!

(Yes, this is what we all do when we meet him in groups:
he’s chatting away with someone, and the rest of us
are taking his picture at like eighty frames per second...)

Yay more presents!

And flowers! Lots of flowers!

And the Bollywood bear, from Ineko Nakagawa!
I love these bears so much.

Autographing stuff...

...and more chatting...

...and more presents...

...and one more happy smile
before he has to reclaim his cart
and lug it all away to the hotel.

Happy Birthday, Johnny!
