All in a day's work,
and more than just an absolutely gorgeous face:
From this ...
... to this ...
Johnny does it all in his own style!
(And with a rhinestone-encrusted raccoon stole
draped over his shoulder for part of the day,

After the excitement of Isaac's show in NYC,
Johnny journeyed to upstate New York
where he gave a speech at the invitation of GE
Johnny spoke about individuality, being your own person,
and reaching your career goals.
Special thanks to Agentress Extraordinaire
Tara Modlin for the photo!
And now, a special link: Thanks once again to the ever-patient and dedicated Akiko Nakata, we have a translation of Wednesday's Hobonichi post about Shigesato Itoi and company's trip to Fantasy on Ice in Fukui last weekend! Written by Yasuhiro Nagata, a member of Itoi-san's "crew," the post includes the wonderful pictures we saw originally--but this time, courtesy of Akiko, we can savor the accompanying text in English, including the endearing conversation between Johnny and Itoi-san. Enjoy!
Coming Monday: Fan project details for All That Skate and Skate for the Heart! Fabulous inspiration for how we can show our support for Johnny at these shows!
Twitter voting roundup!
(although I have to say that I'm not impressed
with the way Faxo is monitoring--or rather, not monitoring--
this voting stuff, so I'm kinda only half-heartedly following
these contests now but I still want my people to win ...)

Just a short note: I could look at Johnny smiling all day. I don´t know how he does it...but his smile inspires me and it makes me relax and smile back after a stressy day in the grindstone that´s usually called work. Thanks for providing the pics of Johnny doing what I need most right now. A smile. And thanks for finally telling what Johnny did upstate NY. I so would like to listen to his speech. Is there any chance to get the script or a vid or something else for us needy ones...*flutters eyelashes and hopes she isn´t too creepy*
Thank you MM and Akiko again! Thanks for the link to the GE summit also, because I knew what he was there for, but searched high and low for a link or official info!
Johnny seems to be on fire these days! Love it! He was the biggest hit of NYFW and he wasn't even in it-although I may be a bit biased....lol! Thanks MM for pics and link to translations!!

'Cotton candy clouds' is right! I'm making Hello Kitty heart hands right now, so heppi that Johnny is getting the attention he deserves...and is just knocking people dead with that smile! And hey, props to GE for climbing outta the corporate box with their choice of JGW as guest speaker.
Is there any way for the fans, who cannot go to ATS & SFH, to help support Johnny at these events?
I know bodies in seats is the ultimate goal, but since some of us can't be there physically...I'd love to know what I can do to help him out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Binks!
Thank you, Akiko for your translation:-)
GE has a good reputation regarding being fair to LGBT employees. The most successful companies are fair toward all their employees. In such an environment, people can be fully focused on their work instead of on recovering from hurt and wrongs, or wincing from seeing friends hurt or wronged. Companies with a good reputation can recruit the cream of the entire talent pool.
What I love about Johnny speaking at the GE event, aside from the obvious "oh I wish I could have been a fly on the wall!" thing, is that corporate speaking engagements are great financial opportunities. I've hired entertainment and motivational speakers for corporate events in the past. It's a quick commitment and good compensation.
The economy is tough all 'round. I'm don't know how the event was funded, although it seems likely the corporation allocates a budget to support this group's events. It's nice to see some corporate resources being invested in such a unique and creative soul. And in this case a FORTUNE 5 company ain't bad!!! No, Fortune 5 is not a typo. GE is #4 on the 2010 Fortune 500 list, so that makes them a Fortune 5 company! Nice.
On another note, don't you think Johnny's got to be tired? He tweeted he had a vacation scheduled http://bit.ly/butXaf. I know he's riding the wave, but he's gotta have fuel to do it. I get tired just following him.
♥♥
Oh, and before I forget... you are AWESOME. ;)
Bet he received many business cards. Looks tired, so hope he can get some downtime and sun to recover from time zone changes http://community.livejournal.com/jgweir_daily/54468.html
Ok...I just LOVE LOVE JGW...the little fur reminds me of my mothers little foxes that were all held together by their mouths...LOVE IT!
Binky you make my day!!!! LOVE U BB
Binks, you do such a wonderful job with your blog:-) Such a great service to us fans. Thank you.
I've just read the translation again of the comments
Shigesato Itoi made after seeing the ice show and Johnny. I love the way they both just glow at each other. A true touching of similar spirits there.
Also, I just want to say again, that I feel very, very proud that the LGBT community, of which I am one small part, is reaching out to embrace Johnny to celebrate and validate his uniquely fabulous qualities beyond the figure skating. The very qualities that the figure skating establishment has given him the hardest time about. Without those qualities, Johnny would be just another beautiful figure skater. But, it is those very qualities, the very substance of himself and his genius, that elevates his skating beyond just being beautiful to being often transcendent. It is that genius that causes the skating to be transformative for so many of us who see him skate. Now, as he is being embraced by the bigger world outside of the narrow confines of elite figure skating, we are seeing the most wonderful unfolding of Being pour forth from this extraordinary young man.
I tried to post this days ago but was stymied by the registration. I'm baaaack! I love the pic of Johnny with the slogan "redefining what's possible" in the background. Isn't that Johnny in a nutshell? Judith, love your comment.
