And a Very Merry Weirmas to All!

For me, Weirmas came early this year--December 11, to be exact, in Flint, Michigan, of all places (that were not on my list of cities I'd really love to visit someday ...).

And there all of us in attendance received gift after gift: The first public performance of "Dirty Love"; beautiful skating by all the elite skaters who joined Johnny in the show; adorable young skaters giving their all and loving every minute of it; and afterward, the gift of Johnny's time, as he graciously met with fan after fan after fan, engaging each in real conversation and, with endless patience, autographing anything and everything that was set before him.

And so here is my gift to you--just Johnny, in one last set of meet-
n-greet photos taken by my son David, who quietly captured this unforgettable evening in beautiful detail.

I'm taking a little hiatus from the blog to enjoy some time with my family. I wish each of you peace and joy this holiday season.

And also love.

Because the greatest gift we can give one another is love. Love that offers unconditional acceptance--of those who are similar to us, and those who are different.

Straight, gay, black, white, man, woman, young, old, thin, fat, Christian, Muslim, atheist, and all labels in between--love embraces us all. Love knows no boundaries. Love has no end. And love has room for everyone.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Merry Weirmas
with love
from Binky

SWTS Finale: Scorching. Wicked. Totally. Speechless.

Johnny during his stunning SWTS finale performance
with Jennifer Wester, Denis Petukhov, and Keauna McLaughlin,
choreographed by Laurieann Gibson to Alicia Keys'
"Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart."
Special thanks to "Puri Monsta" on Facebook
for the screen cap!

Please watch this:

OMG.

This.

This is skating.

This is skating unfettered by points and politics and petty power plays.

This is skating as performance art--as Cirque du Soleil meets the Bolshoi meets Lady Gaga in an explosion of passion and athleticism and beauty and artistry so spellbinding that you are absolutely mesmerized and all you know is you can't explain it--you can only experience it--and Sweet Weirsus, you wish it would never end.

And also that you would pay big, big money to see hours of this nonstop. Like, say, in a Skating Spectacular starring the only man on the planet who can create this kind of art on ice. Who is so dazzling, so captivating, so expressive, and who so embodies every note of music that you are completely transported into another world--an exotic, erotic, deliciously dangerous place that slices right through your soul and leaves you ...

... spent.

Wow.

And so.

I'm back where I started all those months ago.

When I wrote, in my very first entry on this blog, the exact same thing I thought last night after watching this performance--even on that teensy tinsy rink (and BTW Denis, Jennifer, and Keauna were all fabulous as well):

[Other competitive skaters are] Math on Ice.

Johnny is [beautiful, blazing hot, poignant, leaving you out of breath and always wanting more] Sex on Ice.

Yes.

So much yes.

(Oh, and Rebecca won! Yay!)

Caged no more ...

... fly and be free, Johnny.

Rebecca's win and Johnny's performance!
Now could you please give Johnny his own skating show
that airs daily on my TV...? )

OMGWTFBBQSWTS

Johnny at the meet-n-greet
at Holiday Dreams on Ice, December 11.
Not sure what he's reacting to here,
but this is pretty much the look on my face
after last night's SWTS ...

Wow. Well, this will be brief because I didn't see that coming and I'm still in shock. Jonny Moseley, my personal SWTS favorite (after Denis, of course, but let's not dwell) did NOT make it to the finale, so instead it's the lovely Rebecca Budig going toepick-to-toepick with OMG-What-The-Actual-F*ck-Just-Happened-Here--yes, she who suddenly went all sicky-sweet Splenda on us last night, and sort of cried or something after her free skate.

And so of course the only rational response was to immediately vote vote vote for Rebecca and Fred on every available phone and with every possible email address, including a brief foray into pondering whether, if my beloved grandfather were still alive, he would use email (yes) and what he might have chosen for his address (hmmmmm) and whether or not he would be #TeamRebecca (most definitely) ...

Online voting actually continues today until 3 pm EST / 2 pm CST / 1 pm MST / 12 noon PST, so please, VOTE NOW if you have any votes/assumed identities left!

Johnny seemed to be in a good mood throughout the show--which keeps improving every week, IMO, and I really hope ABC will give it a chance at a second season to settle in and find its audience--despite signs that he's still fighting a cold, and he was classy and kind toward OMG-She-Cannot-Possibly-Win-This-Thing-Can-She, to his credit. But my very favorite Johnny moment was this, when Vernon (after all these weeks I'm still NOT o-) Kay (with his performance as host but oh well now it's almost over) announced that Johnny would be performing on tonight's finale:

My other favorite moment was when the judges gave Jonny and Brooke their scores, during which Johnny is clearly cracking up for some unknown reason, which makes me crack up too even though I have no idea what's going on with him and Laurieann:

But wow, I am so bummed about Jonny and Brooke. Fortunately, Wendy Stevens came to my rescue almost immediately by uploading Johnny's Kaleidoscope performances so I could use them to wipe my mind of images of Skeletor on Ice:

Johnny's Ave Maria performance from Kaleidoscope,
December 8, 2011, San Antonio, Texas ...

... and his Bad Romance. About which I can only say: WOW!
And then click "replay" ...

So that helped. As does the fact that Johnny is performing in the finale with Denis Petukhov (yay!), Keauna McLaughlin, and Jennifer Wester in a group number choreographed by Laurieann to Alicia Keys' "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart." I can hardly wait for the fabulousness!

But seriously: I'm still shaking my head over this finale. How on earth is it not Jonny and Rebecca? As the news exploded across Twitter last night, my friend JEKitten offered this explanation:

Lolololololol. Votevotevotevotevote ...

Random Stuff in No Particular Order Because Even Alphabetical Seemed Hard But Hey Here's More Pics!

Random "Dirty Love" performance pic from Holiday Dreams on Ice,
December 11, 2010, courtesy of David Ingogly.

OK, there's a bunch of stuff we need to go over but I'm not really caffeinated at the moment hence the lack of any discernible organizational method other than that there are words and pictures together on a page.

First of all, a major heartfelt squeeeeee left over from Friday for anybody who might have missed it:

Which means he actually got to read everybody's beautiful messages of love that were screen-capped (thank you again, NinjaGirl!) from his Facebook fan page and blogged here. And that is just one big happy. :)

Next there's this article, which was posted on his official website AND tweeted by Tara--and that was all it took for us to ROCK THIS VOTE! I LOVE this, because not only does the writer diss She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-(But-If-She-Were-I-Would-Do-So-By-Taking-Her-First-Initial-and-Using-It-to-Replace-the-"W"-in-"Witch"):

"Bethenny has decided she does not care what the judges say, which is mostly that she’s awful, and instead says she is skating for America. America wants you to know, Bethenny, we agree with the judges."

The writer also gives props to Johnny for his "You Don't Care/I Don't Care" critique of I'm-Sorry-What-Was-Your-Name-Again-I-Couldn't-Hear-You-Over-Your-Stridently-Appalling-Attitude on last week's SWTS:

"Finally, [Johnny closed out the year] with his stint as a judge on Skating With the Stars and let Bethenny have it on episode four--and it is safe to say this diva definitely OWNED that diva."

So when I first saw this article Sunday morning, Kate Gosselin was ahead in the voting for Biggest Reality Diva of 2010 by a huge margin. But once Johnny's fans got ahold of the link and started FB'ing it and tweeting it everywhere, it took less than 12 hours for him to grab the lead decisively. IDK when voting ends, but please let's just keep going till they make us stop cuz it's fun and this writer is my new bff.

And then there was Kaleidoscope, the San Antonio show in which he performed on December 8 with a world-record case of jet lag and which was broadcast on Fox yesterday afternoon at various times around the country, resulting in a huge FB and Twitter Johnny lovefest after it aired. Here's just a sample:

Which brings us to today and tomorrow and the finale of Skating With the Stars! (Hey, actually this is kinda in chronological order! Which is pretty good for someone who has no idea WTF time it is right now.) Tonight the final three pairs will perform, and one pair will be eliminated (please Sweet Weirsus, Holy Mother of Gaga, and of course Santa Claus, let this be the end of Frankel-My-Dear-I-Don't-Give-A-Damn tonight ...). And tomorrow night the final two couples will compete, the champion will be crowned, but more importantly, Johnny will be performing again in a special number with Jennifer Wester, Keauna McLaughlin, and Denis Petukhov, choreographed by Laurieann Gibson! Can't wait!

And so, as a reminder to Rhymes-With-"With-An-'E'"-Which-Apparently-Very-Few-of-Her-Fans-Realize-Or-Else-They-Really-Really-Just-Can't-Spell that it's all about the SKATING, please enjoy these additional random HDOI pics of someone who knows that all the way to his soul. And who can even skate while he's singing (whereas she can't even skate while she's skating ...):

Very special thanks to my son, David Ingogly,
for all the HDOI photos!

when attending Johnny events...)
