And Finally: "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien"

Q. What is your biggest regret?

A. I live my life with no regrets. You learn from everything you give up or fail to accomplish, and you accomplish new things from failing at old ones. If I offend someone today, tomorrow someone will find strength from what I did. If I judge too harshly one day, the next day I will be judged harshly and will learn from my mistakes. Regrets are for people who dwell and wallow. I do not.
--- Johnny Weir

Edith Piaf performs "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien."
Lyrics below translated from the French.

No, nothing at all
No, I regret nothing

Neither the good things
people have done to me

Nor the bad —
it's all the same to me

No, nothing at all
No, I regret nothing

It's been paid for,
swept away, forgotten

I don't care
about the past

With my memories
I have lit the fire

My sorrows, my pleasures
I don't need them any more

Swept away the love affairs
And all their tremblings

Swept away for always
I'm starting from scratch

No, nothing at all
No, I regret nothing

Neither the good things
people have done to me

Nor the bad —
it's all the same to me

No, nothing at all
No, I regret nothing

For my life, for my joys

Today, they begin
with you.

No Regrets (sorry, lazy) is one of those songs you really *feel* when you hear it. I can't wait to see Johnny skate to this, live. So beautiful. Fingers crossed for Philly AND/or Lake Placid!

And congratulations to Tara and Josh!! I hope your lives are filled to the brim with happiness and love.

Inspiring!

Love how the costume flutters and gives a hint of flight.

Wonderful use of black and white photography to capture and emphasize form.
