Finale

After the closing number, "Born This Way,"
Johnny acknowledges his fellow Ice Dreams headliners
as they take a bow.

Well, I've put this off for as long as I can. But like all good things, the seemingly endless supply of Ice Dreams picspam must now come to an end with this last series of shots from the show's finale.

And then I have to let go of Ice Dreams 2011 and return to my regularly scheduled life that is stunningly lacking in glamour, full of stuff to edit, bills to pay, laundry to sort, cat barf to clean up, etc.

But every once in a while in the coming months my kids will catch me staring out the window, not seeing the ruts in the driveway or the vegetable garden that needs weeding or the next-door neighbor's peeling roof or the smoke from the illegal burn pile across the street.

No, my eyes will be fixed on the memories of blades slicing across a glassy white surface, a spray of ice chips, the rich and shifting colors of multiple spotlights, and the mesmerizing beauty of one dazzling man alone on the ice--a free bitch, baby, who was born this way and who regrets nothing.

Thank you, Johnny, and everyone at Ice Dreams, for being an icy-cold splash of extraordinary in my very ordinary life.

It. Was. Fabulous.

Here's hoping for more Ice Dreams Tour dates to come!

Until then, please enjoy these final moments from the Bensenville show ... :)

Very few people can stand as straight and naturally as Johnny. Or move so gracefully and commandingly on ice.

Very few can blog so well and capture fans' thoughts so well. Or capture the image, soul and aura in photographs.

Aaaack, I love this: "...move so gracefully and commandingly on ice." Yes. Johnny OWNS the ice. I'm so glad that comes thru in the photos. ♥

does Johnny have any idea how much happiness he brings to so many of us? of course, my levels of Johnny-happiness would shoot up to never-before-seen levels if twitpics of him in that wedding dress would show up. i wanna see him dressed up all pretty!
