"If Angels Can Skate, They Do It As Johnny Does"

This beautiful headline comes to us from Luisa Lotka, my dear Czech Republic friend on Twitter and FB, who saw Johnny in the "Edge of Heaven" show in Prague Friday night.

She also wrote: "Just returned home from the show. My soul and heart are full of love, beauty and sparkles, my head is empty."

Yes. This.

And by the modern miracle of YouTube, here is a glimpse of what she experienced--a tiny slice from the edge of heaven, where the angels skate as Johnny does....

Johnny's "Heartbroken" performance in Prague.

Johnny's "Bad Romance" from Prague.

We also are lucky enough to have another brief clip from Thursday's Kings On Ice in Budapest, in which Johnny skates to a performance by the amazing violinist Edvin Marton. Thank you to Krisztina Gurga of the "Kings On Ice Hungary" Facebook group for the video, and to Tatiana Edrenkina for first posting it to Johnny's fan page!

UPDATE: More video of Johnny skating to Edvin Marton!
(Because we can never have too many videos of this or of anything Johnny, really....)

And, because a rainy Saturday makes for a perfect afternoon to spend at the movies with Johnny, here's one more, a lovely new montage that I found in one of my YouTube searches, simply titled, "Johnny Weir--My Inspiration."

Lost in translation no more: Hey, remember this link from yesterday? Kind reader Vicky Klinko, whom I met at Ice Dreams last year and who speaks Hungarian (!), offered to translate for us so we could know what was really said at the press conference in Budapest(thank you SO much, Vicky!). Click here to read why Johnny wore his Sochi jacket, how he feels about not skating competitively this past year, and who he thinks will win at Worlds ...

Thank you, Luisa, Krisztina, Tatiana, Natali, Vicky, and Binky, for your memorable words, translations, and this extraordinary footage.

Hungary and the Czech Republic have suffered so much in their past history. Here's hoping that Hungarians and Czechs now can enjoy permanent peace, the many blessings of democracy and the fruits of their incredibly talented people.

Thanks for posting on a Saturday, Binks! Although I read every blog you gift us with, my new work digs aren't condusive to my being able to respond...and I miss being able to tell you how much I love your blog, and Johnny!

Thank you Hungarian & Czech fans for the photos and these lovely performances...and the "Johnny Weir, My Inspiration" video bring tears to my eyes, both joyful and painful.

I was lucky enough to view the video of Edvin Marton and Johnny performing in Budapest. If only the collective conscious could elevate itself to this level of expression and beauty, what a world we could live in.

"If Angels Can Skate, They Do It As Johnny Does"
This so much!

Here's another link to the Budapest performance of Edvin Marton playing his Stradivarius while Johnny skates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBqIpDmMiDk&feature=player_embedded The link is courtesy of Kelly Maurer, Tatiana Edrenkina, and Anastasia Pryanikova.

To quote Debora Walsh in her blog, "Johnny Weir skating to Edvin's Stradivarius, two priceless and irreplaceable treasures." Or maybe three.

I don't know what we would do without all these wonderful Johnny Weir fans around the world to show us these pics and videos and write us these reviews and translations. I also don't know what we would do with MM to put all these things together for us! Thank you so much MM! You rock!
