I once overheard another mother saying how very much she wished her son was more creative.
I thought, "No, you don't, not really. The idea of being 'creative' appeals to you in theory, but not in practice.
"You and you son are clearly uncomfortable with anyone who is different. You and your son would be very unhappy if others in the community thought your son or his ideas, interests, or behavior was odd.
"And that's what creativity requires--being different, being odd. If you do the same things everyone else does and do it in the same way, that's the opposite of being creative."
Thank goodness for those strong and brave enough to be creative and/or allow their children to be.

God has blessed the creative ones with the ability to expand our vision beyond the mundane through their work. We view their work and we are reminded that there is a great deal more than we ordinarily see, and that it is transcendentally beautiful.
