Happy Fourth of July! Here, Have Something Sparkly

Well, we've kind of come to the end of our fun-filled fling with Fukuoka (although I'm still wistfully hoping for twitpics from the fan meeting in Tokyo which was yesterday which is a concept that grows ever more vague for me cuz they were having it during my tomorrow), so here's the last bit of Fukuoka picspam--or "picspasms," as my Twitter friend @cleopatra457 says, which may be a far more accurate term when we're talking about Johnny and playgrounds and pretty damn sparkly stuff ...

Before the show, staff members work the
World Figure Skating booth on the arena concourse.
World Figure Skating is the Japanese publisher
of both Johnny’s incredible Mook Book
(OMG if you don't already own this ORDER. ONE. NOW.
Why are you still reading here? Really. Go on. I'll wait.)
and the Japanese edition of Welcome to My World.

Holding up the Mook and Welcome to My World
to see if there are any interested customers ...

... Why yes. Yes, there are.

Super Managtress Tara with the incomparably fabulous
Akiko Tamura, one of my journalism heroes.
Akiko has known and interviewed Johnny since before his first
Olympic appearance in 2006. She wrote the sensitive, thoughtful,
and deeply insightful pieces in the Mook
that my dear friend Akiko Nakata translated for us.
(Haven't read them yet? There's no time to waste!
Just type "Mook" in the search box on the blog
to find them all, beginning with
this interview with Patti. Not to be missed!)

Akiko interviews Johnny and Yuzuru Hanyu before the show.

Johnny with a group of Spanish dancers
who also performed in the show. All I know about them
is the description from sources, which was: "HOT HOT HOT!!!"

More from Johnny's birthday party,
held in the Skaters' Lounge between performances
on Saturday, July 2. Everybody is happy
to celebrate with him! :)

Johnny with his cake here ...

... and here ...

... and here!
Obviously needed to be photographed repeatedly
because how often do you see Johnny
holding a gigantic cake on a platter?

And with Tomáš Verner here. :)

OK then! That about wraps it up!

Oh wait ... I almost forgot ...

Here you go.

Happy Fourth!

Johnny backstage in his new Bad Romance costume.
The BlackBerry was so jetlagged at this point it could barely
open its lens, but oh! The sparkliness! The sheerness!
And did I mention the sparkle?

Yes! The sheer sparkly sheerness of it all!

Happy Fourth of July, Johnny!
Thank you for the sparkle you bring
to everyone around the world.
We love you! ♥

and Welcome to My World in Japanese made me SQUEE! out loud! so cool!

hmm . . . the cute Spanish dancers look like vampires with those glowy eyes, but i didn't even notice them at first. cause, you know, Johnny!

i'm feeling very SQUEE! and fan-girlish this week, cause all the photos from this trip have been freaking awesome!

but we still want him to come back home. there might be more birthday presents to open. maybe! :-)

safe trip home, Johnny and Tara!

and, Binky, if you ever even THINK about not blogging anymore, a bunch of Kittens will hunt you down and beg and plead and meow loudly until you give in!

Can´t like it properly. Something went wrong.

Anyway...great pictures. I love the pic with Tomas Verner.

Oh...an the sparkly ones. Awesome. I might get blind with all the sheerness and sparkle. He really seems to wear something like a hood, doesn´t he? I believe you ( as in Binky) would add now: "Discuss".

I need to see that costume in persona or more likely not photographed by a jet lagged blackberry.

Thanks for putting all the fierceness and birthday happiness into a post. Thank you to Tara for the pics. Thank you to our sparkly boy.

Happy Independence Day!

LOL, my security word is "Squee". See, even Blogger is the same opinion as I am. Squee!!!

Thanks for all those photos. It's good to know Johnny had a good birthday celebration.

Heart be still...here's hoping for an eventual translation of the latest interview.

Johnny in his new costume is a one-man July 4th fireworks program. Wowza.
